The HP F210 is just one of the few dashboard cameras out of a well-known brand. While this may be branded as a Hewlett Packard camera, HP isn’t the actual manufacturer of the product. It is produced by a Chinese manufacturer that rebrands it for a variety of businesses. Check these: Best dash cam reviews 2018
1 good thing about the camera is that a few significant retailers are taking it out in the United States and Canada. The camera records 1080p at 30 frames per second and has very good video quality during the day and above average video quality in nighttime.
The camera is based on the Ambarella iOne processor and Aptina 3135 CMOS detector. Not much info on this Aptina 3135 sensor can be obtained but the specs seem quite like the favorite Aptina AR0330. If that’s the case, this camera is most probably not providing true WDR (Wide Dynamic Range).
Overall build quality is very good as well. This is a medium sized camera at 70 x 36 x 31mm however, the squarish form factor isn’t the most discreet. In addition, the camera comes with an extremely large mount which makes this camera overly noticeable.
On account of the big / long mount, the movie quality is described as being shaky by some owners. A smaller mount resolves this issue.
Shifting Speed Setting
Some owners have a difficult time changing the speed displayed from KPH to MPH. This is set up once you first start the camera.
Should I Purchase?
Overall, this is a affordable camera for the price given the movie and build quality. If you are looking for a GPS enabled camera this isn’t a bad option but take a look at the GT68oW or RX300 which are somewhat more affordable and marginally better nighttime quality.
We’re not fans of the bracket but changing this into a smaller adhesive mount, makes this a better choice. Be aware that HP doesn’t create this camera but rather only a producer in China.
